Welcome!

Please call me Heni, I’m a certified psychologist and the founder of this community of psychologists called Pszichészet. I know that the name might not be the best choice for international clients, don’t even try to translate it, it’s a made-up word in Hungarian. It’s supposed to refer to a place where we can work on our psyche, to better our understanding of our reactions, thoughts, feelings, moods, and actions, and improve our communication and problem solving-skills. That is what I think is the best investment in life because you can enjoy its benefits in both your personal and professional life. The point is that we are here to offer professional help if you find yourself in a situation that you struggle to cope with.

A bit about myself…

What determines my work is the drive to help and my endless professional curiosity. I earned my qualifications from multiple universities. First, I did my undergraduate degree in Budapest (HU) at Károli Gáspár University, then my first postgraduate diploma is from Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK) health psychology. I also completed another master’s degree in clinical psychology at Eötvös Loránd University (Budapest, HU). Since then, I’ve been doing my Ph.D. in clinical psychology. Research is important for me because that gives me safety and security to be able to see what works for whom and why, under what circumstances, so that I can provide the best quality of service with evidence-based practice. My main interest in research is stigmatization that can come from having mental health issues and the so-called self-conscious emotions related to stigma such as shame, guilt, pride, etc. What I enjoy the most about the Ph.D. program is teaching. I deliver workshops in study and communication skills, and clinical psychology and I also supervise undergraduate dissertations. I’m also working on developing my practical skills as I’m a candidate cognitive-behavioral therapy consultant and a schema therapy consultant. My work experiences come from mental health units and private counseling. I believe that in my profession, life-long learning is essential and I work hard to be able to provide help for those brave enough for asking. Everybody experiences rough patches in life and luckily, we don’t have to cope with it alone.
